In the city

These past few days have been phenomenal. Crossing the brooklyn bridge while munching on mangoes on a stick, sailing across to get a closer view of the Statue of Liberty (aka, Liberty Enlightening the World), taking pictures from the top of the Rockefeller center, eating from little carts and restaurants, shopping until we literally drop and gallavanting around Times Square. It's been great.

life

Life is an amazing gift. You can do what you please with it because it is yours. The sole purpose of life is to live it and that's exactly what I've been doing these past few days. From taking a dip in the ocean and the sun peels its way across the morning sky to walking the bustling streets of my city.

and so it begins

Summer that is. Well, really it started more than a month ago but it's better late than never. In all honesty I haven't exactly had the 'equipment' to do the blogging which makes me feel awful and like I'm continuously making excuses why I should not blog. So in a nutshell, my computer is broken and my best friend was as genourous as to kindly lend me her laptop to catch up on some sought after blogging. I've been almost craving writing lengthy posts with pictures capturing just mere seconds of my life. I've been up to a lot lately too. Spending time with friends, spontaneous cliff jumping, unexpected water balloon fights, journal filling, swimming (a LOT), sunrise/set gazing, picture taking (of course) and well, just having fun like any sixteen year old should on her summer holidays.

So my summer has been pretty laid back yet at the same time somewhat hectic. Im'm off to New York city with my best friend in just FOUR days (almost unbearable) and I haven't started packing yet, oops. How is your summer lovely?

You are beautiful!

The other night I was washing my face, brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed. I gazed at my reflection in the mirror; scrubbed clean face, crazy poofy hair, dark circles under my eyes and a slight smile stretching from the corners of my mouth because I was finally free of that residue on my face.Then it hit me, "I don't need makeup to be beautiful". I love myself from the inside out and I am just beautiful me. After all, what is the definition of beauty? Is it flat a flat stomach? long perfect hair? curvy hips? blue eyes? nice clothes? Actually the answer is none of the above. Beauty is feeling comfortable in your own skin and being content with who you are. Beauty is not labelled or classified, it is any one who has a good heart. I believe that too many girls these days are bullying themselves with hurtful words like "ugly" or "fat" and it is just too sad. So the other day I took a stand, I grabbed my camera took a picture and posted it to Facebook. I didn't care what people had to say because I am comfortable with who I am inside and out. Crazy enough the feedback was better than anticipated! What I am getting to here is that I think everyone should feel beautiful regardless of who you are, what your beliefs are, what you have done. YOU are beautiful and if anyone tells you otherwise just ignore them, they will find their inner beauty one day.

This is the picture,I know it's a self take but hey, it was night time. I know I shouldn't say this but I also uploaded to instagram and Christina Perri (Jar of Hearts) posted a picture of herself without makeup and I commented on how I did the same and she liked mine! Sorry if that came off as bragging it was just an exciting part of my day :)

I Made a Page!

Today I was inspired. Inspired to live my life to its fullest and fulfill my dreams. I have a passion for photography. Sure, it's not as strong as others but I definitely hold a place for it in my heart. I've decided I want my pictures to be known and I wanted to get out there. So, I made a Facebook page. I am in the midst of editing and perfecting it but if you have a Facebook it would mean the world to me if you checked it out here and liked it!
